SANTA MONICA, Calif. — TrueCar.com, the authority in new car pricing, trends and forecasting released its Performance Scorecards for automotive manufacturers and brands. The Performance Scorecards grade each manufacturer and brand on eight different measurements including pricing, sales, incentives, customer loyalty, market share, and days in inventory.
Overall, the top manufacturers on the Scorecards in May were Subaru, BMW, Subaru, Hyundai and Jaguar/Land Rover. Near the bottom of the list were Mitsubishi, Mazda, Suzuki, and Volvo. The brands that received the highest grades were BMW, Land Rover, Audi, FIAT and Hyundai. The brands with the lowest grades were Volvo, Suzuki, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Jaguar and Porsche.
The manufacturers with the largest gains, from April 2012 to May 2012 were:
- Toyota moved from a B- to a B+
- Hyundai moved from a A- to an A
- Subaru moved from a A to an A+
- General Motors (GM) moved from a C to a B-
- Honda moved from a C+ to a B-
- Nissan moved from a C to a C+
The manufacturers with the steepest declines, from April 2012 to May 2012 were:
- BMW moved from an A+ to an A
- Jaguar Land Rover moved from a A to an A-
- Volkswagen moved from an B+ to a B
- Porsche moved from a B- to a C+
