Alpharetta, Ga – Consumers looking to purchase their next vehicle online now have a new Basic Verification service to help them make a more informed decision. The new service is offered by consumer vehicle inspection company InspectMyRide®, a division of DataScan Field Services, one of the largest automotive inspection services in North America. InspectMyRide designed the new service to benefit a key niche in the online car buying market. While Basic Verification is available for all vehicle models and years, it is especially tailored to meet the needs of classic and antique car shoppers.
Most standard pre-purchase inspection services are limited to vehicles made over the past 25 years. The new service expands this valuable checkpoint for older cars, helping to prevent fraud for a greater number of consumers including those shopping for classic cars and antiques. “Since we first launched our consumer inspection services in August of 2010, we noticed there were a lot of buyers interested in inspections for cars older than 1985,” said Brent Sergot, President of InspectMyRide. “No matter what model year it is, buying a vehicle is a big investment and we want to provide online shoppers with the resources to make a well-informed decision.”
InspectMyRide has become known for its signature Premium Vehicle Inspection. At $179, this service includes a 150+ inspection point check, a test drive, a complete AutoCheck® Vehicle History Report and a deluxe photo package including more than 20 photos. InspectMyRide, an independent third-party company with more than 600 inspectors nationwide, is featured on top car-buying sites such as eBay Motors, AutoTrader and Cars.com.
The new Basic Verification service – offered for $129 – is a quicker, more streamlined review of vehicles by a professional automotive inspector. It includes a photo package which captures images of the odometer, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), the car’s exterior and interior, as well as any observed damage. Inspectors will start the ignition and engage the transmission. InspectMyRide will also verify the VIN.
“One of the key benefits of the new Basic Verification is that it helps consumers avoid becoming a victim of fraud,” said Jim Wantz, Director of Field Operations for InspectMyRide. “We provide an important tool to help car buyers feel more confident with their purchase decision. Now we have the ability to do that for more consumers than ever before.”
“With more than 38 million used vehicles sold last year – and over 70 percent of them offered online – InspectMyRide provides an increasingly vital service to help consumers make informed and reliable purchases while providing the ultimate convenience,” Sergot said.
