Second YouTube spots jump on humorous video trends to bring new product to market.
San Francisco, CA — ClearMechanic, provider of technology to improve the auto repair experience, today released the second in a variety of spoof infomercials, titled, “Dampered Camping Trip” to promote their new service, an online scheduling solution that works like an “OpenTable” for car repairs.
The commercials, produced by Family Sandwich Comedy, are meant to highlight how difficult it is to connect with repair centers on the consumer’s own schedule. The first spoof titled, “Better Luck Next Time,” was an instant success with over 1,000 views in the first few weeks. The follow-up version features the same spokesperson caught in the bed of a mechanic while trying to advocate on the consumer’s behalf. Both spoofs aim to shed light on the difficulties of setting a car repair appointment online today.
Launching this summer at select repair centers in the San Francisco Bay Area, customers looking for a service center can visit ClearMechanic.com, search for appointment availability at multiple dealerships and repair shops and instantly book an appointment with their provider of choice. Customers will no longer need to make time-consuming phone calls or fill out elaborate online scheduling forms.
“After the success of our first spoof commercial we thought it was important to follow it up with something equally compelling,” said Brad Simmons, CEO of ClearMechanic. “I think viewers will find commercial number two to be just as funny as our first and hopefully they’ll visit ClearMechanic.com to find out what the new service is all about.”
Studies show the average age of loyal dealership service customers is now over 50 years old. ClearMechanic’s new solution aims to bridge the gap between service centers and young consumers by making it more convenient to schedule vehicle services online. The company has assembled select, highly rated Bay Area service centers to participate in the pilot program, with a consumer roll-out planned for this month.
